Ingredients For This Recipe

    • 1 lb ground beef, 80/20
    • 8 corn tortillas
    • 8 american or cheddar cheese, slices
    • ½ ice berge lettuce head, fine julienne
    • Thousand island dressing, to taste
    • 1 tbsp oil, or more if needed
    • Burger spice mix
    • 2 tbsp onion powder
    • 2 tbsp garlic powder
    • 2 tbsp salt
    • 2 tbsp pepper
    • Pico de gallo
    • 2 roma tomatoes, seeded and small dice
    • ½ white onion, small dice
    • 1 whole dill pickle, small dice
    • 1 jalapeno, small dice
    • ¼ cup cilantro, chopped
    • ½ lime, juiced
    • Salt, to taste

    Preparation

    1. Mix well all the ingredients for the pico de gallo.
    2. Place in a 1-quart bowl mix all the hamburger spices.
    3. Divide ground beef into 2-ounce balls.
    4. Preheat skillet for 2 minutes over medium-high heat and add oil.
    5. Place 2 balls in skillet and season with spice mixture.
    6. Place a tortilla on top of each and with the spatula flatten the meat until flat and cook on both sides.
    7. Season the meat again and place a slice of cheese on top; cook until the tortilla is golden brown.
    8. Repeat with the rest, clean and add a little more oil to the pan if necessary.
    9. Top your tacos with lettuce, pico de gallo and thousand island.
    10. Serve, garnish and enjoy.
